A novel method to equalize the maximum available gain (MAG) is presented. The method is based on the introduction of a simple interstage network between two transistors, where the set is treated as a single element. The technique provides not only excellent gain flatness but also two additional advantages relative to conventional designs: simpler matching networks and smaller size. The method is simple, and the design is easy. A high gain L-band amplifier prototype has been developed to verify the equalization technique, achieving a few hundredths of dB gain flatness variation over the operation bandwidth.es_ES
