Abstract
We present an investigation of the stabilization of premixed laminar flames by means of an isolated highly conductive bluff-body, a circular cylinder, placed in a uniform flow of a combustible mixture. It is shown that the problem has non-unique steady-state solutions for certain values of the parameters. Moreover, we solve the time-dependent equations to check the stability of the solutions and demonstrate the possibility of controlling the convergence to a certain steady-state solution.
